16 August Family and Student Update
Dear Families and Students,
We are so glad to be back! It has been a great start to the new school year, thanks to our wonderful faculty and staff and of course the efforts you and our students made to ensure that everything was set for day one!
First Day of School
E-the-Eagle made our first day special and brought a lot of joy and so many smiles. We are especially grateful to Dr. Baumgartner or, as he is affectionately known, “Dr. B”, for ensuring that E was ready to start the new school year in the best possible way. Look at those faces!

And of course our faculty went above and beyond to foster a sense of belonging with their new students. Here is just one example of how students are welcomed each morning. This personalized choice board in this Grade 1 Junior class lets students choose the greeting they would like to give and receive before they start their day. Check out the short video below to see it in action!
Volunteer Training
We are hosting our annual Volunteer Training session on 11 September from 2:00-3:00 PM, in the 123 Hall. All parents and guardians who are interested in volunteering at AIS need to complete a Volunteer Training session before they are eligible to volunteer. By attending this session, our parents and guardians will be equipped to support the PTA and our school for class activities, field trips, and future events within the AIS community. The meeting is scheduled just before the PTA General Meeting to make it more convenient to attend.
Please note that if you completed your Volunteer training last year, you do not need to attend this session. If you have any questions about whether or not your training is up-to-date, please email our Leadership Assistant, Ms. Floris Lai at floris@ais.edu.hk. She will be happy to check the list for you. If you know you need to attend a training, please SIGN UP HERE to RSVP.

First PTA Meeting
Our first PTA General Meeting will be held on 11 September from 3:15-4:30 PM in the Conference Room, following the Volunteer training (see above). This year, all meetings will be face-to-face. We hope that your schedule will allow you to join us!
New Faculty
Please be sure to take a moment to read our first Eagle-i Blog, featuring our new High School Counselor and Head of Counseling, Ms. Vijaya Schnatterbeck. We’re excited to welcome her to our community, and I’m sure you’ll feel the same.
As always, I hope the weekend is relaxing and you find time to do things that energize and inspire you so you are ready for the week ahead. See you Monday!
My best,
Anita Simpson
Head of School
