30 May Family and Student Update
Dear Families and Students,
I know it is difficult to believe, but there are only three (3) weeks of school left before the summer holidays! Students and families can look forward to our end-of-year events and activities during that time, and I look forward to seeing many of you on campus as we celebrate student success during upcoming awards assemblies, High School Graduation, and more.
Dragon Boat Festival – 31 May

The Dragon Boat Festival is tomorrow, and I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all AIS families. May your Dragon Boat Festival be filled with happiness!
Volunteer Appreciation Event
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the PTA and to all AIS parent volunteers for their invaluable contributions throughout the year. Their dedication and hard work have made a significant impact on our community, and we have greatly benefited from their continuous contributions. From organizing events to supporting various programs, our volunteers have enhanced our students‘ educational experience and created a positive environment for learning and growth. The events they sponsor are joyful and memorable, and we are truly thankful for their selflessness and ongoing commitment.
It was a privilege to honor their many contributions during our Volunteer Appreciation event!

Whole School Art Show
This year’s whole school art show was beyond outstanding. From Elementary to Middle to High School, our students’ art work was simply stunning. Thank you to our talented visual arts team – Ms. Chan, Ms. Gibson & Ms. Reeves – for creating the conditions where our students can share their incredible art skills with the school community.
I am proud to announce this year’s award winners and would like to extend my congratulations to the following students & class for being chosen by principals for special recognition:

Grade 1 Collaborative
Elementary School Principal Award

Jennifer Han
Middle School Principal Award

Kaitlyn Ng
High School Principal Award

Sana Sohda
Head of School Principal Award
AP Art Show
Our AP Art Show, entitled Illusions of Elsewhere, featured 19 AP art students’ portfolios and included both 2D & 3D artwork as well as Drawing Portfolios prepared for the College Board. From generational trauma, to capturing memories, to protecting personal boundaries, to the impact of social media on wellbeing, and to the many ways we collectively chase happiness, the explorations featured in these powerful pieces moved, inspired, and challenged viewers in the best possible ways.
Many thanks to the staff, students, and families who were able to attend, and of course special thanks to Ms. Lynsey Reeves, our High School Visual Art teacher and schoolwide Head of Visual and Performing Arts, for her tremendous dedication and passion.
Thank you as well to our students for their vulnerability, for pushing our thinking, and for challenging themselves to express the human condition in provocative ways. Here are just a few images from the show.

Middle School and High School Sports Day
Our amazing Middle and High School Students had a wonderful time during Sports Day last Friday, 23 May, despite the exceptionally warm weather. Spirits were high and their enthusiasm and effort was palpable. Thank you to our PE Team for all of their work preparing for the day and for the wonderful instruction students receive all year long that sets them up for success on days like these. Special thanks goes out to Mr. Jacky Chan, Mr. Ant Lennan, Ms. Jules Brosnan, Ms. Mollie McHugh, Mr. Xingrui Xu and Mr. Jose Duran De Sande. Thank you as well to all of the parents who came out to cheer our students on! We appreciate your support!!

Enjoy the weekend ahead.
My best,
