20 March Family and Student Update

Dear Families and Students,

Today is the first day of spring and the weather is wonderful!  So is the weekend forecast. I hope that students and families are able to get out over this upcoming long weekend to enjoy some of the incredible range of outdoor activities that are available in the city. From hiking to biking to strolling along beautiful shoreline promenades, there are so many things to do. I encourage everyone to get outside and take advantage of the sunshine ahead.

Trimester Two Report Cards

I hope all families have received their student’s report cards which were sent home yesterday afternoon. Please be sure to contact your Divisional Principal if you notice any errors. All families are reminded that they must notify the school by Wednesday, 25 March by 4:00 PM to make changes. Please note that the original report card must be returned to the office in order to proceed with any needed revisions.

Be sure to take a moment to celebrate the good learning and excellent feedback your student has received this trimester. By asking them about what they’re most proud of and what they would like to focus on in the future, you create opportunities to discover more about their passions, interests, and learning goals. Showing an interest in specific aspects of their program, listening carefully to what they have to share, and taking the time to invest in the reflection process is a meaningful activity that can leave a lasting impression. Remember to focus on the positive and set realistic goals for next steps.

Re-enrollment for 2025-2026

Families are reminded that they need to complete the Re-enrollment Form for the upcoming school year to ensure that they reserve their student’s spot by Monday, 31 March. Spaces are limited in several grades, so please be sure to act soon to avoid disappointment.

2025-2026 School Year Calendar

Our 2025-2026 Family Calendar is now available and can be found HERE. Sports days have not been officially confirmed yet and will be communicated when they become available.

PTA Bake Sale & Charitable Free Dress Day – 28 March

On Friday, 28 March, the PTA will host a bake sale from 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM or while supplies last. All proceeds from the sale will go directly to the Home of Loving Faithfulness (HOLF), as Friday, 28 March is also a Charitable Free Dress Day for them. We are looking for volunteers to help make this event a success. Interested parents are asked to please email our PTA president, Ms. Jennifer at pta@ais.edu.hk as soon as possible.

Baked goods will be sold for $HK15.00 to $HK25.00, depending on the item, so be sure to send additional money to school, if you’d like your children to participate in the Charitable Free Dress Day and the bake sale!

School Holiday – Friday, 21 March

Don’t forget that there is a school holiday tomorrow, Friday, 21 March, so all students and families have a long weekend ahead! We will see everyone back bright and early on Monday, 24 March.

Happy spring, everyone!

My best,

Anita Simpson
