14 March Family and Student Update
Dear Families and Students,
We have had a wonderful last few weeks with so many activities and events to enjoy! From the International School Fair at the JW Marriott Hotel last weekend to the Grade 4 – Grade 5 Dodgeball and High School Music Concert last night to Elementary Sports Day today – there is so much to celebrate!
High School Music Concert
Last night was such a treat for everyone in attendance. We had a terrific turnout, and the performances were just outstanding. We heard three great tunes from the concert band to start followed by individual and group performances, and then three fun numbers from the choir. The musicianship was really incredible, and Mr. Piner, our High School Music Teacher and his students made us incredibly proud. Thanks to Mr. Ris, Ms. Reeves, Mr. McLean, Ms. Kirwan-Elliott, and so many of the High School faculty and parents for their help and support last night. The halls were definitely alive with the sounds of music!
Elementary Sports Day
What a great Elementary Sports Day! The weather was lovely – not too hot with a nice cool breeze. Spirits were high and smiles were everywhere. Thanks to our PE Team for organizing and facilitating a wonderful day and to our High School Athletic Council for supporting the activities. Dr. Baumgartner and Ms. Kaur can be especially proud of the Elementary School Division. Special thanks to all of the parents who came out today and to Mr. Green for the wonderful photos!

The 20th Hong Kong Wushu International Championship

I am delighted to share that two of our students have achieved special recognition in the martial arts. Our very own Grade 5 student, Luca LYU, and his brother in Grade 3, Harry LYU, recently won the Gold Medal at the 20th Hong Kong Wushu International Championship. What an outstanding achievement! The organization has recognized AIS as one of the overseas martial arts ambassadors. Congratulations to them both!

Parents Make The Difference
The March issues of the Parents Make the Difference newsletters are here. These informative resources serve as excellent tools to support you in helping your child build skills appropriate for each age and stage of their educational journey.
Make sure to check out page 2 of the Elementary School edition, where you will find how to take advantage of opportunities to strengthen thinking skills. Additionally, on page 1 of the Middle School edition, you can find some helpful strategies for helping your child master reading material.
I highly recommend exploring the Daily Learning Planners as they offer valuable suggestions to facilitate dialogue and strengthen your bond with your children. Enjoy the meaningful interactions I’m sure these prompts will foster!
Have a great weekend ahead.
My best,
Anita Simpson
Head of School
